Many Christians are watching world events in order to see how far it is at God’s time table, assuming God has such a table.
And why do they watch? They want to know how close the rapture is.
However, this is not what He requires from us, Christians.
He called us not for watching the world, but for conquering the world by the power of the gospel of His Kingdom in us.
If we don’t conquer the world – in us – we won’t participate in that hoped for rapture at all.
What made the wise virgins different from the foolish? They conquered the world within and without by the Love and Truth of Christ within them, the Spirit in their hearts.
The whole Bible as word of God has one main subject to share with us and that is to re-establish the Image and Likeness of God in us.
The Lord Jesus Christ is the Image of God, according to 2 Cor. 4:4 and Col. 1:15. And God did predestinate us to be conformed to the image of his Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren, Rom. 8:29, the fulfilment of what the Lord said about His followers in Mat. 5:48 “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.”
This requires complete inward unification with the Lord, according to John 17.
This is nothing less than the hope of the gospel and the purpose of the gospel for all mankind to become real sons and daughters of God, Hebrews 3:6; 6:11,18; 1 Peter 1:3,13 and 1 John 3:1-3.
Those who will belong to the wise virgins will prepare themselves to that perfection, according to Rev. 19:7.
